Dr. Massof is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Professor of Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is founder and Director of the Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center at the Wilmer Eye Institute. Dr. Massof’s research areas include health outcomes measurements, clinical and basic vision psychophysics, physiological optics and psychometrics. Dr. Massof founded and directed a collaboration of The Johns Hopkins University, NASA, and the VA to develop the Low Vision Enhancement System, called "LVES" ("Elvis"). Dr. Massof received his PhD in Physiological Optics from Indiana University and then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute before joining the Wilmer faculty in 1976.
